Reading through Chapter 3 helped me on understanding what is marketing.
Market share is vital.
When I worked with people who in the Marketing, I heard very frequently the term "market share" but did not understand as much as I understand now after this chapter. a. Market share can be given in sales percentage (more practical) or units percentage; b. Market share could be changing dynamically; c. Market share is related to market segmenting. Larger market share value may increase if narrowing the market segment. d. Increasing market share does not nessary means a good business if the market itself is shrinking; e. Market share is vital for business. It is very important to understand its real meaning.
Second research about consumer's market
I have tried several very useful tools for second market research. As a example, the Google Insigths for Search is very easy to use.
The tablet product interest in incrasing dramatically in the last couple of years.
